Episode #09: The Journey from Food Blogger to Published author: Sally O'Neil, The Fit Foodie
Welcome to episode #09 of the Femme Boss Podcast.
First up, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has left a review on iTunes for the show - this truly means a lot and helps the show reach more people, so thank you, I really appreciate you!
Today’s guest is Sally O’Neil, otherwise known as the Fit Foodie - who is a self-confessed fitness + health foodie lover, who was born UK and moved to Australia six years ago to enjoy a little more sunshine.
From humble beginnings as a food blogger who literally started blogging over her love of creating healthy and delicious meals, Sally has a hugely inspiring story of how she transformed her passion into a super successful business.
Blogging about her foodie adventures has propelled Sally into freelance journalism, developing recipes and writing for a number of national health magazines.
She is also a proud Ambassador for Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, and after becoming a yoga teacher; following a crazy dream to launch her own healthy snack business (Fit Mixes), and working with big clients to style and photograph their food products, she was approached to write her very first cookbook – Love Move Eat.
In this episode, we dive into how Sally was able to transform her passion into a thriving business; how she manages her time given her multiple roles as blogger, business owner, photographer and stylist; the role Instagram has played in growing her business; plus Sally takes us behind the scenes of styling her shoots and spills the beans on her secret tools of the trade.
Sally also shares her incredibly inspiring story of what was actually going on behind the scenes while she was creating her book and how she managed to stay sane and focus on creating such an epic masterpiece - I was in shock when Sally shared this and you can tell from my voice that this was not the answer I was expecting when I asked the question!
This is a true testament to Sally and her amazing strength that carried her through this journey.
I can’t wait for you to listen and be inspired that you can create anything you set your mind to - no matter what obstacles you need to overcome.
